Michelle Obama Commissions Charity Single With Missy Elliot

The Obama's #62MillionGirls campaign just had a hit single put together for their cause. First Lady Michelle Obama commissioned a single to raise funds for the Peace Corps Let Girls Learn Fund. Don't worry, Michelle doesn't sing on the track; instead, she gathered Missy Elliot and friends to put together "This Is For My Girls."

Songwriter Diane Warren, and artists like Zendaya, Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monae, Kelly Clarkson, and Lea Michele join Missy Elliot for a one of a kind record that is sure to get a lot of purchases. For those who do buy the single, your money will be directly donated to the cause mentioned above, which will aid women all over the world to get an education.

Many of us take education for granted, but the truth is there are places all over the world where women are oppressed and not even given the slightest chance for an education. This is not something we, the Obamas, or any of the participating artists can stand for. As humans, we all deserve respect as equals. It shouldn't take a rocking song to make us realize that, but one is here to help close the gap. Check out the preview below, and head over to iTunes to grab "This Is For My Girls."
