Rudimental was recently involved with a brand new charity project called Beating Heart. The initiative has two parts, one being the commission of remixes, and the other being a show.
What are the likes of Rudimental, Machinedrum, My Nu Leng and more remixing? Well, these three acts along with Luke Vibert, and Throwing Shade and more have partnered up with the Library of African Music to put together the Beating Heart - Malawi album. On Friday June 3rd, this album will become available and the proceeds from the album will go towards the Garden to Mouth development, which will provide income and nutrition to African communities.
If even just 1500 units are sold, that would be enough to feed 500 children forever. Instead of simply putting out their first ever charity album, Beating Heart put together a concert in April at Lake Malawi National Park to kick off their unique project. At the event, the acts came together to play their works live, along with other material.
Snippets of the original works can be heard below. The remix album isn't due out until June 3rd, but pre-orders are currently available for those who want to reserve a copy through iTunes.
