Tokimonsta is a force to be reckoned with. The grammy-nominated producer has proven you can trump adversity in spectacular ways. 4 years ago, she was diagnosed with moyamoya - a rare disease caused by blocked arteries at the base of the brain. She had to undergo brain surgery, losing her ability to understand music. With will and courage, she relearned how to speak, hear and make music. Four months after her surgery, she played Coachella. The following year, she was nominated for a Grammy.
With that being said, this incredible artist is wise beyond her years. Luckily, she shares some of that wisdom through Twitter. Check out some of her most endearing tweets below.
You most def don’t need someone by your side to achieve your goals. That’s all you. 💪

One day you will tell your story of how you’ve overcome what you’re going through now.. and it’ll become a part of someone else’s survival guide.

This is me 10 years ago and me this past Halloween. This decade: I survived brain surgery for a terminal brain disease then went on to get nominated for a Grammy. Believe you can see it through and amazing things can happen. pic.twitter.com/rJOB0tqmz2

“The ego is frightened by death because ego is part of the incarnation and ends with it. That is why we learn to identify with our soul, as the soul continues after death. For the soul, death is just another moment.” Ram Dass
