Artist Spotlight: Louis the Child

The face of music is constantly changing and the future of EDM is bright as hell. With young talents like electronic duo Louis the Child, members Robby Hauldren (20) and Freddy Kennett (19) are not only revolutionizing the genre with their vibrant and original future bass style hits, but making the scene their own with their quirky presence.

After bonding over similar music interests of Madeon, Flume, Porter Robinson, and ODESZA at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois, Hauldren and Kennett decided to collaborate and form a duo under the name “Louis the Child” in 2013.

Since rising to fame with their single “It’s Strange” in 2015, receiving major recognition from pop music sensation Taylor Swift (she added the track to her “Songs That Will Make Life Awesome” playlist. Like, what?!), and being listed among the likes of other incredible EDM talents such as Two Friends, K?d, Rezz, Illenium, and more in the Chainsmoker’s “Most Underrated Dance Artists” list, LTC could very well be the poster-children for where the dance music community is headed.

LTC has blessed our summer playlists this summer with the release of fresh new tracks and lucky for us they will be kicking off their fall "Last to Leave" tour October 8th in Austin, Texas. They've released the names of their special guests in their #lit tour promo video which includes: Joey Purp, Lauv, Louis Futon, Prince Fox, Ashe, Party Pupils, Point Point, and Win & Woo. With a lineup as stacked as this, the tour is a must see for your concert calendar this fall!

Through our collaboration here at Electric family with Louis the Child, when purchasing of one of their very own artist bracelets you can support the charity of their choice: Erika's Lighthouse. With the goal to education communities about teen depression, eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness and empower teens to take charge of their mental health, Louis the Child not only is creating a bright future within the EDM community with their talented work but cultivating positive mental health throughout all youths! Well done guys!
