Alan Walker Donates $100K to MrBeast's Team Trees Campaign
As part of our Artist Doing Good series, we take the time to shine a light on producers who are using their platform to better the planet. One such artist is Norwegian DJ/producer Alan Walker.
The #TeamTrees mission is to plant 20 million trees around the globe by January 1st, 2020. Each dollar donated equates to one tree planted. The campaign started making traction after famous YouTuber MrBeast joined forces with Mark Rubin together with the Arbor Day Foundation to hit the goal by 2020.
The top donation spot was held by MrBeast at $100k until Alan Walker came in and claimed it for his own with a $100,001 donation. Not one to lose, MrBeast challenged that with another donation of $100,002.
I just donated $100.001 to plant 100.001 trees! Great initative @MrBeastYT ! Lets spread the word and create a different world! If you want to contribute go to https://t.co/o01ivniQZ6 #TeamTrees

#TeamTrees now has turned into a full challenge for the elite. Elon Musk came in next to blow the competition out of the water with a massive $1million donation and even officially changed his Twitter name to "Treelon". Tobi Lorax, the CEO of Shopify, topped that with a $1,000,001 donation which placed him as the current leader.
As of this article, #TeamTrees has planted over 10 million trees, making the goal of 20 million not far out of reach.
You don't have to be part of the 1% to make a difference. Any donation counts and is welcomed. You can truly help change the world here.
