Something we pride ourselves here at Electric Family is highlighting charity initiatives that work to better the world as a whole. In the past, every quarter we've donated $1 from every Artist Bracelet Series sold to the Greater Good Fund but now with the current state of affairs we found it was important to pivot our resources to one specific charity whose main focus is supporting the relief efforts for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This quarter Electric Family will be donating $1 for every Artist Bracelet Series sold in Q1 to Feeding America. Their network is the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States including in disasters and national emergencies. They launched the COVID-19 Response Fund, a national food- and fund-raising effort to support people facing hunger and the food banks who help them. They are working with government leaders to ensure the emergency response includes strong support and flexibility for federal nutrition programs including the School Lunch Program. They also are partnering with school districts and local government agencies to ensure that the 22 million children who rely on school meals have access to food outside of the classroom
They are doing so by building an inventory of emergency food boxes to distribute to food banks across the country as the need for food assistance increases. By providing emergency grants to food banks to support local response efforts they will continue to safely distribute food and non-food household items like cleaning supplies, diapers and personal care products.
To learn more about the response in your community and how you can help, find your local food bank. You can also donate to the organization here.
Every dollar raised from the COVID-19 response fund will be used to get food and funds to local food banks across the U.S.
Feeding America is just one of many charities out there providing relief effort during the coronavirus outbreak. Others including
Doctors Without Borders,
The World Health Organization,
Oxfam America,
The Red Cross,
World Central Kitchen,
Team Rubicon,
Half-Table Man Disaster Relief.
