Memorial Weekend is upon us, and while that used to mean holiday getaways and trips to get your tan on, due to our current state of affairs we need to reimagine how to celebrate accordingly.
Due to COVID-19, safety must be the top priority this weekend, but that doesn't mean you still can't have fun! Below we've laid out some great ideas on how to make the most of this holiday and threw in the perfect playlist to blast while you do so.
Watch Artist Livestreams
This has become a weekend constant in most of EDM lovers lives. We applaud our community for championing the live stream sector, flooding the internet with endless options of sets to watch. This weekend alone you can tune into Dillon Francis' IDGAFOS Weekend, the Factory 93 Livestream, Movement at Home, DGTL Lighting In a Bottle, Steve Aoki's The Sweetest Prom Ever, and more.
Transform Your Home Into A Mini Beach
This one is a little tricky, we don't recommend going and flooding your house in sand but you can create a virtual beach in your house using a little imagination. Set your TV screen to a beach party or ocean scene, make some fun fruity cocktails (alcoholic or virgin), put on your bathing suit, blast some music, maybe even throw in a few beach balls and voila! If you have a yard you could even get a little inflatable pool or use a hose to make your own mini Splash House.
Have A BBQ
BBQs are a quintessential Memorial Day activity. Fire up the grille or chow down on some indoor burgers and hot dogs and pretend you are at a picnic at the park somewhere!
Watch a Movie Outside
Get yourself a mini projector and host a little outdoor cinema! Classic Memorial Day vibe films you could include are Wet Hot American Summer, Stripes, Apocalypse Now, and Top Gun.
Send A Virtual Thank You To A Veteran
We often look over that Memorial Day Weekend is a time to thank our troops for their service. Reach out to either someone in your life who has military connections or even reach out to a stranger. These kind notes go a long way. Spread some love this weekend.
