In 2017, Fyre Festival was the talk of the year. Fast forward 3 years later, the infamous disaster is still making headlines. However, this is some lighter news regarding the festival.
The official Fyre Festival merch will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the victims of the festival. A percentage of their "losses" will go to each of them.
The auction ends August 13th and 126 items are up for bid. This includes hats, tokens, wristbands, sweatshirts, joggers, and more. Some items start from $60 and jump up to $800.
The US Marshall Service wrote:
“This Fyre Festival-branded clothing and other items that were seized from Billy McFarland were originally intended to be sold at the Fyre Festival itself but were kept by McFarland, with the intent to sell the items and use the funds to commit further criminal acts while he was on pre-trial release. “The proceeds from the sale of these items, all traceable to McFarland’s $26 million fraud, will go toward the victims of his crimes.”
