This year has been challenging, not only in regards to our physical well being with COVID-19, but also mentally. The pandemic lockdown has been a triggering time for many who struggle with their mental health, which is why honoring this past Saturday's World Mental Health Awareness Day is so important.
In our community, we are surrounded by outstanding artists who use their platform to share resources, personal stories, and more in regards to mental health. It's vital these messages reach the masses, so people understand they are not alone in this fight. Below are five artists who are doing their part.
Diplo
Diplo partnered with TikTok to host a live meditative experience in honor of Mental Health Awareness Day. The "Diplo & Secular Sabbath with Rhye - Looking For Me(ntal Health Awareness) LIVE" stream raised funds for the JED Foundation, an organization that empowers teens and young adults with the skills and support to grow into healthy, thriving adults.
Alison Wonderland
The esteemed artist shared her insight on mental health, stating it should be observed everyday. This is true. Taking care of yourself is a 365 day effort, and should always be made priority.
