With Miami Music Week coming up, what better way to kick off festival season than Ultra? Not only is this year Ultra’s 20 year anniversary, but we have some special surprises in store for you:
This year, there will be a variety of special Electric Family x UMF bracelets that will only be sold at Ultra. UMF is one of those unique festivals where the bonds people share over electronic music expands far beyond state lines. If you’re making the trip this year, you’ve officially immersed yourself in one of the few music festivals in the country where you truly meet people from all over the world.
With Ultra getting bigger and better as each year passes, it’s important to keep in mind why people started attending UMF and music festivals in general in the first place. We wanted to ask our fans what their experiences at shows and festivals have been like for them, and it’s evident that everyone has essentially the same response regardless of where they’re from:
Jackson from Melbourne: “Electronic music is a massive part of my life, and it has changed my life enough for me to want to change the lives of others.”
Kristin from Chicago: “The majority of my friends are like-minded people who value the joy a show or music festival brings to your life.”
Ryan from Hawaii: “I have made lifetime friends/family members through traveling to different festivals and shows together. It has brought us to a sense of camaraderie. It has been very positive and you get a better understanding of people that you go to festivals with. The more festivals you go with your group, the closer it brings everybody together. Everybody should experience a music festival together, if they have not done it.”
Sierra from Indianapolis: “I've made 90% of my closest friends through music. It has changed my life forever. I can't find words to express how my music family has saved me!“
Jordann from LA: “Almost every single friend I have in my life is through music. It’s such a connecting factor, and you already have something in common so it’s easy to relate to others.”
Jared from Toronto: “I’ve made so many friends! I literally have a separate circle of friends that I mainly see at shows and festivals.”
Alex from Denver: “I have made the majority of my group of friends through music. Music and friends are some of the most important things to me, so being able to have both experiences conjoined is the best. It’s always fun bonding over music. Being passionate about the same artist.”
The bond people share over electronic music runs deep regardless of who you are. It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing or how you’re acting. The people around you simply accept you for you, and that’s why we are so excited for this collaboration with Ultra Music Festival.
We appreciate each and every one of you who continue to support us and give back to the community. At Electric Family, we strive to raise the social consciousness of every person we come in contact with. With your help, we’ve been able to donate to organizations like A Big Gigantic Difference, F*ck Cancer, Global Rights, Make A Wish, ASPCA, and more.
